"Digital systems" and their role in the development of different digital technologies

Digital systems in our lives

Currently, Digital Technologies have spread, as these technologies have entered human life in various respects, and these technologies are issue to non-forestall development and modernization techniques so that they become smaller, better performing, plenty much less expensive, and then re-marketed.

Some of the most popular electronic digital technologies are television and radio, telephone as well as audio recorders, through to smartphones, computers, and all the electronics that we know today. There are still tireless efforts by technology leaders and manufacturers to digitize all the nascent technologies currently in place.

Signals and Digital Systems

In the process of designing electronic systems, whether outdated or modern, engineers depend on the development of the functions they perform to increase their ability to process the signals entering them to then produce other signals with variable specifications according to the function on which the system is designed.

Accordingly, first, the signals must be identified and then you will be able to understand the digital systems as the signal is a relationship between two or more variables and all those variables are independent variables except for one variable that belongs to these independent variables and its value or status can be determined only after determining the value or status of the independent variables.

An example of indication in everyday life is the temperature recorded throughout today and that is a relationship between two variables so that we find that the independent variable is time and we can measure it by the hours and the dependent variable in this case is temperature and measured by the percentage degree so that we can only set the temperature by knowing a specific time.

From the previous example, it is clear to us that temperature is a signal whose value can only be determined by determining the value of time first because the temperature value is dependent on time while time is an independent variable that can be determined without temperature reference.

Most electronic systems used in life process signals into them to generate other signals that are used. Outward signals may also be subject to several treatments through a series of systems until the final function for which humans have developed these systems, which complement each other, such as in communications systems, television, and radio broadcasting systems, etc.

These digital systems process several types of signals so that they eventually reach signals that we can perceive as human beings with our hearing and vision and turn into neural signals that are interpreted by the brain and ultimately benefit humans.

Drivers of the emergence of digital systems

Although human beings have benefited for several years from electronic digital systems that preceded the advent of digital systems, they have encountered several obstacles due to the nature of these digital systems, which have failed to meet their growing demands and accommodate the complexities that accompany these complexities, such as the motives for the emergence of digital systems. These complexities include:

  • The signal is jammed and overlapped before it reaches the system that receives it, which inevitably changes its value. In this case, the system only has to process it as it relates, thereby removing a signal of poor quality, inaccurate, or interference.
  • The signal is weak due to the length of distance between the transmitting person and the receiver so the system cannot strengthen or filter it if the distance is too far, and reinforcements and systems are used to strengthen the signal before entering it in a state of extreme weakness.
  • Encryption problems where old systems could not encrypt signals to achieve data and information protection and protect them from espionage and hacking.

Digital systems in our daily lives

Digital systems are present and effective in all aspects of people's daily lives. We watch digital TV, which displays channels from the digital reception system and receives signals from a digital satellite. Also, when a mobile call is made, we use the digital system to send our digital signals to digital communication towers to the future person's place of the call.

The radio also has digital control buttons and a digital user interface where different radios can navigate and save the frequency of various waves, as well as other electronic digital devices such as washing machines, refrigerators, and ovens all operate with certain digital systems.

In general, digital systems are electronic systems that perform their function by processing numbers, and with this simple perception, any digital system can be reduced to being a desktop specialized in performing a particular function for which it is designed.
